December 2nd Bozeman Snow

Dec 3rd 2008 — Bozeman — 1:05 am

Since I live about a mile from school I usually ride my bike there. Tuesday it snowed about 6 inches in town during the day. When it came time for indoor ultimate that night I decided to hoof it and take some pictures along the way. That might be a more common occurrence during the winter months as the road seemed to resemble an ice skating rink.

Bozeman Night

Dec 1st 2008 — Bozeman — 1:04 am

These are from a nighttime bike ride a little while ago. Bozeman can be pretty dead sometimes, once we got off of main street I don’t think we saw a single car the rest of the night.

Bozeman November Snow

Nov 21st 2008 — Bozeman — 2:32 am

It is late and I need to go to bed, but I couldn’t resist taking a picture out my bedroom window of the snow that is falling. I love how snow makes everything so quiet.

Gallatin Valley Biking

Nov 17th 2008 — Biking,Bozeman — 7:21 pm

Yesterday we went for a short and sweet bike ride up on the hills around Bozeman. We did a loop starting on the Story Mill Trail, crossing Bridger Canyon Road, going up and around to Sypes Canyon Road, and then coming back on some other road that definitely wasn’t Springhill. There was basically no traffic, warm weather, and amazing views of the Bridgers and Gallatin Valley.

Regionals Aftermath and Bozo Bag Game

Oct 30th 2008 — Bozeman,Ultimate — 1:46 pm

The Bozeman Ultimate crew got together after their fine performance at Northwest Mixed Regionals. Joey took some video at the tournament and along with her husband Camas, had the team over to her house to watch it.

Towards the end of the night the bag game was played (This is when I realized I had my camera with me). The goal is to pick the bag up off the ground with your mouth, with only 1 foot on the floor. Every round the bag gets cut so it is shorter and shorter. I am not very good at this game.

It was a great evening though, thanks to the Key’s for having us over. And thanks to Cyn for making the most epic spinach-artichoke dip ever.

Montana State Rail Jam

Oct 28th 2008 — Bozeman,Snowboarding — 12:48 am

This was the scene in the middle afternoon out in front of the library at MSU Bozeman last Thursday.

It makes me feel old to wonder why these kids are wearing what they are wearing. The gnome look seems to be in this year.

I believe this was put on by a fraternity..(Sigma ????) to raise money for cancer.

Springhill Road Biking

Oct 25th 2008 — Biking,Bozeman — 9:14 am

On Thursday Jeff and I took advantage of the nice weather and managed to get out in the evening on a bike ride to Belgrade.

Bozeman Fall

Oct 9th 2008 — Bozeman,School — 8:23 pm

Fall goes by quickly in Bozeman. School has been keeping me well occupied these days, but I have managed to take a few pictures of the season on occasion.

Ultimate Bozos

Sep 23rd 2008 — Bozeman,Ultimate — 12:20 pm

Bozeman Ultimate played at the Big Sky Sectionals in Missoula this weekend. We went 4-1 in pool play, losing a close game to the number 1 overall seed, the Missoula Flycoons.

Sunday we went 2-1, losing to Pyschopastique from Edmonton, Canada and beating Boise to earn a spot to go to Northwest Regionals in Corvallis, Oregon in October.

Bozeman Hailstorm

Jul 23rd 2008 — Bozeman,Montana — 9:25 am

Yesterday in Bozeman we had a couple of short but serious storms. In summer the weather around here is typically dry but yesterday was an exception.

I had my camera for the 2nd storm.

This was right before the serious stuff started. I realized I should get my camera and by the time I ran inside and came out again things had already changed dramatically. Hailing in Bozeman Hail on the Driveway Hail on the Grass Clouds on the Bridger Mountains A field after the storm

Moving Day

Jul 2nd 2008 — Asheville,Bozeman — 9:53 pm

After having a very carefree beginning of the summer with lots of time to take and post pictures, this week has found yours truly both starting to teach summer school and being the only person responsible for the de-cluttering and subsequent cleaning for a landlord’s inspection of a 5 bedroom house that has spent 3 years being a free for all.

Today was supposed to be the end of my residence at 1320 S 6th Ave all but the inspector person didn’t show up. ( actually 4 days ago was the original plan but things keep coming up).

The point is 7 hours of scrubbing starts to get to you.

Another point is don’t fill your abode with a bunch of crap you don’t actually want/need because one day you (or your roommate) might have to move it.

More Pow Wow Pictures

May 6th 2008 — Bozeman,Montana,MSU Pow Wow — 10:49 am

Picture overload probably. I wasn’t seeing me having a lot of time to post these in the next week so I thought making this post would be a good study break. The costumes these people had were really incredible. The clothes are totally handmade as well, with really intricate bead work that doesn’t show up in the tiny pictures I’m posting on here.

The last picture is of Luke and a Native American Studies student Michael Sweeney as they were leading their congratulatory procession. It was really heartwarming to watch as people come up to shake hands and give hugs and then get in line.

Pow Wow

May 4th 2008 — Bozeman,Montana,MSU Pow Wow — 8:21 am

So I was at the Montana State University American Indian Council Pow Wow for a couple hours yesterday. My friend Luke was honored for his service to the Native American community at the school. Congratulations Luke!

Pow Wows are especially unique events for someone like myself who hasn’t been exposed to a lot of Native American culture. I took a lot of pictures and here are a few. I’ll put up more later but right now I have to study for the final I have tomorrow.

Monday afternoon and my classes for the semester will be finished. It has been a warm weekend in Bozeman as well, which I am grateful for.

Dawn’s Birthday

Apr 27th 2008 — Bozeman — 9:48 pm

Friday was my roommate Dawn’s 30th Birthday. She is the last remaining person of our house who has been here longer than me, and she is also totally rad. I vote her most likely to make cookies for everyone. She is graduating this year and leaving Bozeman. Dawn you will be missed.

We had a most excellent dinner at the house and then headed downtown to check out the ol’ Bozeman bar scene. Before Friday I can’t remember the last time I was in a bar. Well actually it was in Missoula. I almost forgot what college bars are like, a social psychologist’s field day.

Good times were had by all and even the walk home in the cold wasn’t too bad. Happy Birthday Dawn.
