In Tokyo

Jul 8th 2007 — Tokyo — 3:52 pm

Here are a couple pictures. Everything is going great. The city is a contstant mass of movement and lights. It is really quite amazing. I’ve only been here a few days but I feel like I’ve seen so much. I feel very fortunate to be able to spend two weeks here.

  2. Pictures are awesome. Glad you’re enjoying. I can’t believe that intersection. We have one like it in Rock Hill but it’s not quite that busy.

When are you getting your hair done??

  3. Are you going to become the first Sulock to summit Mount Fuji? Mom and I are a little embarrassed that no Sulock has done so.

  4. Michael, how awesomely easily you have slid into Davy’s new culture. The photos make it seem as if you’ve been part of that scene for a looooong time!
It is great that you have taken pictures in Tokyo. Five, at least. Post more anytime.

Do they have barbers, or is the only option the major hair makeover Davy received several months ago?

We are all looking forward to seeing you soon. Both of you.

  5. Mom, the city is Portland.

Rebecca, the intersection is just ridiculous. I don’t know if the sheer multitude of people or of large buildings or giant screens with advertisements (there are 3 of these that are several stories tall) are more impressive.

Binky, yeah the hair is interesting. Davy’s hair is probably in the middle of the spectrum, there are guys who’s hair looks like the Hair Band days of the late 80’s. For some reason the semimullet is quite fashionable as well.

As so Mt. Fuji, I don’t know. Its not really a mountain hike like there are in Bozeman. There is a gift shop at the top and its about 3 hours outside of time. When I have brought it up Davy hasn’t seemed too enthusiastic.

Nice to hear from you guys!

  6. This is funny.. (only the Sulocks!)

Michael keep taking awesome pictures!! Have fun!.. and yeah if you happen to run across a nice cheap kimono that doesn’t take over your luggage that would be cool.. if not thats ok. I’ll let it slide.

  7. Mom, actually the city is Seattle. I was just trying to make sure everybody was paying attention. I did not actually fly anywhere near Portland.
