Vegas Aftermath (Brief)

Feb 14th 2007 — Misc,Snowboarding — 2:45 pm

Back in Bozeman. Things are calming down as I catch up. Vegas was quite interesting.

Some highlights:

  • Our team (the Rum Runners) went 6-2 over Friday-Sunday
  • Got stuck in an elevator with 22 other people for an hour and a half (more will come on this)
  • Saw some standard Vegas sights, the fountains at the Bellagio hotel, an audio-anamatronic Zeus and friends pop out of a fountain inside Ceasar’s Palace
  • Lost 2 dollars gambling
  • Enjoyed 80 degree weather for a 3 days
  • Spent 3 hours driving the final 80 miles home, (arriving at 3 am), on a snow-covered interstate
  • General marveling at the train-wreck of civilization that is Las Vegas

And much more!

Right now I’m trying to stay on top of my game so I can go to Bridger tomorrow, because it has snowed about 4 feet there in the month of February, including about 3 in the last week. So there is a lot of freshy pow-pow out there waiting for me.

  1. Mmmm… 3 am on snow-covered interstate – thanks for your careful driving! I love your phrase “the train-wreck of civilization that is Las Vegas,” expecially fine for a math major. Eager for details. Hope you get out in the fluff.

  3. Sounds like you had an interesting and “varied” time, and your trip was a success (you experienced about a 100 degeree difference in temperature!).

    I await more details.

Don’t miss Heels on Saturday at (PM EST.

  4. I’m looking foward to hearing more about this, and I’m glad you made it home safely without wrecking or gambling away all your cash. I hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy the fresh snow already.

  5. Yup, Vegas is a train wreck. Im agine all the water that has to be diverted from the Colorado River to nourish all that “Civilization.”

Ugh. Stuck in an elevator for an hour and a half? Did anyone panic? Do you still call and write to them, your 22 new friends? Can’t wait to here about that experience, as well as all the others.
Did you get out of the city? To the Dam, the lake, etc.
