Warm in Bozeman

Mar 6th 2007 — Bozeman — 9:01 am

The snow is melting and grass is coming out. This is a continuation of the pattern that has been relatively persistent over the past month or so of snowing quite a bit and then warming up. Its not all bad for us snow-sports enthusiasts because it makes me feel like I’m not missing as much as I spend my day off doing schoolwork in the office.

Spring Break is next week and I am planning to use it to travel down to the Grand Canyon and maybe Zion or the Moab area as well if there’s time. It will be my second time there and I’m extremely excited as it is one of my favorite places that I’ve ever been to. I’m hoping to be able to spend a couple days hiking and camping in it but that depends on the availability of permits. Either way it’ll be nice to have a week off and travel to a different climate.

  1. Moab and the G.C. are awesome, as you know. It is grand how you are making good use of time and relative proximity to visit these places.
    Will you be travelling alone?
    Stay safe!

  2. At the Grand Canyon there is a ridiculous new tourist attraction, a walkway that is horseshoe shaped, and suspended over the Canyon, about 4000 feet above the floor. It is brand new, we’ve seen them building it (on the evening news). We think it looks like Las Vegas has partnered with the Grand Canyon. I’ll be interested to hear what you think. It is a glass construction, totally scary to me. It costs $25 and is supposed to solve the finacnial problems of a tribe of Native Americans.

  6. Binky, that bridge is on the Native American owned section of the Canyon, outside the National Park. We didn’t actually see that but I saw a front page article on it in the USA Today in a gas station right after we left.
