Rock Creek Camping

Rock Creek is about 20 miles east of Missoula. It is a nice place to do some car camping, even if you forget your sleeping bag.

    The phrase “car camping” is camping where you drive your car right next to where you will camp. This is contrasted to “backpacking” where you leave your car behind and hike to where you end up sleeping.

    They are quite different things due to the different logistics.

    Basically

    Car camping = How much crap can I fit in my car to make this experience as much like home as possible.

    Backpacking = How little can I take so I don’t have to end up carrying around a bunch of crap I didn’t need anyway.
