  5. Do you have life insurance? I ask since I recently heard a story of a friend who was trying to get life insurance and was given an insanely high premium (to the point that he was practically denied) due to his high risk sport activity. He did sports similar to you – and his blog, as is yours, was evidence of his activity, so he couldn’t deny any of it. The story was hilarious. You would have enjoyed it. Apparently they had a statistician/high risk specialist call him to verify information.

    These are the things you think about when you’re about to have a baby – your life insurance policy. I hope you have one because you might be out of luck at this point:)

    Hilary, I just got a life insurance policy last year and was honest about my climbing. They more than tripled my premium 🙁 As Ford would say, “poor papa.”
